About

Sausages, Rice and Gravy is place to find my thoughts and views on food, cinema and the random goings on in my brain.

I grew up around food, having lived in a fish ‘n’ chip shop/chinese take-away for 18 years. My dad did the cooking and on a daily basis at 5.30pm (the Newsround gap between Grange Hill and Neighbours), we’d sit down as a family and it freshly cooked chinese.

During university I started cooking for myself, my first ever recipe book being Jamie Oliver’s Happy Days with the Naked Chef and from then on my joy for making food sprung to life.

A combination of Sunday Dim Sum, Friday Fish and Chips, and Tuesday bread has exploded my mind to a world of flavours and textures. All of which I’d like to share with you.

… Oh yeah, I like watching movies too. Anything with a good story I’ll enjoy. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was not one of them.
